Becoming a Better Listener
This course provides an introduction to active listening and aims to increase listening skills by raising awareness of what being a ‘good listener’ means and improve the ability to listen to the ‘whole person’ without judgement.
Who should attend?
Anyone whose role either professionally, personally or in a voluntary capacity involves listening to a diverse group of people, staff, colleagues, people in distress or family members.
What does the course involve?
The sessions comprise a mix of theory and practical workshops, giving course participants plenty of opportunities to practice new skills. The course is led by qualified Tutors from The Listening Place.

“When I joined the course I thought I was already a good listener. During the course I found that, although I had a basic understanding, my skills fell well short of being ‘good’! The course improved my ability to ‘listen well’ considerably and I now use those new skills in my voluntary role as a Listener at The Listening Place. I have also found these skills invaluable when listening to friends and family members. It’s a course that could benefit everyone!” JL
